Caring Schools Programs

Transform your school into a community where every student knows they belong.

Educators know that great schools provide a caring, connected culture where every student feels cared for—by teachers and staff and by other students.

Easier said than done, though, right?

You’ve likely got a lot on your plate already. Maybe your school has never prioritized helping students care for each other, grow in empathy, and pursue justice. It’s hard to know where to start.

We get it.

We’re educators ourselves and we know how hard it can be. And, decades of research partnering with schools has shown us: creating caring schools IS possible.

Parents for Caring Schools prepares parents and caregivers how to teach engaging lessons at your child’s school to help create a more caring and connected school and classroom community.

Research shows that parent involvement in school leads to improved student achievement and social-emotional outcomes. For the first time, we are inviting parents and caregivers to learn how to directly lead lessons for students, helping them learn how to treat others with kindness, expand their circle of care, understand their emotions, and feel a stronger sense of belonging at school.

Parents who join will:

  • Participate in a short monthly webinar from August 2025 - May 2026 where MCC will provide guidance and support on how to:

    • Work with your school to create a plan for parents to lead one lesson each month

    • Recruit other parents to join you in this effort

    • Lead fun and engaging lessons

  • Receive 10 scripted lessons designed to be led in the classroom by parents

  • Get guidance on how to organize a Parents for Caring Schools group at your school

Students for Caring Schools provides middle and high school educators and student leaders with lessons and guidance to create a student-led club that builds stronger relationships and a more connected community throughout a school.

Research shows that when students learn from fellow students, it fosters a deeper understanding of the subject matter and a more positive attitude toward the material—for the students leading AND the students that they are teaching.

Students, and any educators supporting them, will be invited to join other students across the country in a series of webinars where MCC will provide guidance on how to create a club, how to recruit students, and how to lead monthly lessons to help improve peer relationships at your school.

Student clubs will receive:

  • Detailed implementation plan for how to start a Students for Caring Schools club

  • Engaging scripted lessons and community building activities designed to be led by students

  • Guidance to organize a Students for Caring Schools club

  • Five online convenings with MCC to help you prepare to lead these lessons at school

  • A student relationship survey and survey report to understand the state of peer relationships at your school and inform improvements.
