Help us learn more about promoting empathy and positive relationships in schools

Empathy Strategies

Calling all middle and high school teachers! Making Caring Common (MCC) is pleased to invite teachers across the country to join our Empathy Strategies initiative on promoting empathy and positive relationships in schools.

The initiative seeks to pilot and evaluate promising practices in classrooms designed to promote empathy and positive relationships. We are testing two different approaches over the 2017-2018 school year: one focused on teacher education (through webinars about SEL and empathy) and the other on student practices (through teacher implementation of research-based empathy strategies).

To compensate teachers for their time and efforts, we will be giving out gift cards at the end of the school year, upon completion of the project.

If you are interested in participating, please email research@makingcaringcommon.org by September 22, 2017. Our research team will follow up with you personally.

The information collected from this project will inform the ongoing development of resources for educators to promote students’ social-emotional skills related to empathy and positive relationships in their schools.
